The Effingham Public Library is pleased to welcome S.A.F.E. (Sexual Assault and Family Emergencies).
S.A.F.E. is sharing their “What were you wearing” display. This display is a project on how to help address victim blaming and sexual assault.
“Many believe the myth that what you wear makes one more or less vulnerable to sexual assault and abuse.”
Individuals were asked what they were wearing during the time of their assault. On display we have clothing that resembles what the victims were wearing during the time of their assault, as well as their stories shared with each piece.
This display will be showcased until May 31st.
